Bishop Beckmann’s address at the Congress was translated into the Lakota language by Fr. Buechel. The Lakota people conferred on Bishop Beckmann the name Wambli Nah-wic-aki-cij-in, Defending Eagle. on #17693, this is St. Francis, look at the pine tree and the grotto to the right . I'm guessing the 40's (look at the pines, when they planted them in the early 1900's, it would have took them 40 years to get this tall, I'm certain). (no description on picture) -- Mike Marshall / Bishop William T. McCarty, CSSR Daniel Madlon, OSB to immediate left of Bishop date of picture 1949 -- Stan Maudlin, OSB (images 205 and 098 were taken right after each other -- RB)

I'm noticing, as we get into these higher numbers we have trouble locating descriptions. I think there is fault with the as400 system revcognizing numbers- if we knew what this picture was called we would probably find it right now! Will have to look manually through the alpha. list instead of the numerical.
